JOGMEC's Activities

Oil and Natural Gas

• Financial Assistance

  JOGMEC provides equity capital finance to Japanese private companies to enable them to carry out exploration and development of oil and natural gas, and also provides liability guarantees for loans taken out by these companies.

• Technology Development and Technical Support

  JOGMEC carries out E&P technology development and provides technical support to Japanese E&P companies as the technology & research center of Japan.

• Gathering/Providing Information

  JOGMEC gathers, analyzes and supplies data concerning oil and gas information.

• Geological Surveys

  JOGMEC conducts geological and geophysical surveys domestically and overseas to provide acquired data to Japanese Government and E&P companies and overseas national oil companies.

Metals

• Financial Assistance

  We carry out financing for metal resources exploration businesses ofprivate companies, and also act as a debt guarantor when a companytakes out a loan.

• Technology Development and Technical Support

  We carry out development of technology concerning exploration work for metal resources, technologyfor extracting metals from ores, andrecycling technology.

• Gathering/Providing Information

  In order to complement and support the metal resources development activities of private companies, we collect, analyze, and offermining-related information.

• Geological Surveys

  We actively provide support to private companies that are engaged in initial exploration activities for metal resources overseas.

Stockpiling

• Petroleum and Liquefied Petroleum Gas

  JOGMEC manages Japan’s stockpiling of oil, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and rare metals, including the construction of national LPG stockpiling bases.

• Metals

  We are implementing national stockpiling of rare metals which are indispensable to Japan’s industry, thereby contributing to the stability of industrial activities.
