Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation （JOGMEC） is pleased to announce that JOGMEC, GNS Science Limited（GNS） , SEEQUENT Limited （SEEQUENT） and University of Auckland held the Advanced Geothermal Course together from September 10th to September 14th 2018.
Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation （JOGMEC）, GNS Science Limited （GNS）, SEEQUENT and University of Auckland held the Advanced Geothermal Course aiming to provide an advanced overview of geothermal engineering using state-of-the-art methodology and simulation tools to Japanese geothermal engineers.
In this inaugural Advanced Geothrmal Course, attended by 22 persons from companies related to geothermal development in Japan, there were lectures such as geology, geophisics, geochemist, also covering geothermal principles, geological modeling & simulation with using state-of-the-art methodology, environment & monitering, geothermal resource problem solving etc., and some group work sessions discussed about well targeting as case-study with active discussions.
At the last session of the course, the result of the group work were reported by each group and organizers awarded a certificate of completion of the course to participants.
JOGMEC will continuously seek to ensure stable supply of resources, and operate in human resource development in order to promote further geothermal resource developments.
