JOGMEC and PETROBRAS signed MOU
to strengthen relationship

On 26th November 2015 - Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC, President: Hirobumi Kawano), and Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (PETROBRAS), the largest energy development company in Brazil, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in order to further strengthen their relationship and to cooperate in the oil and gas development technology field.
This MOU aims for mutual cooperation in the activity on exploration, development and HSE, and the field of R&D in the oil and gas development technology to strengthen the relationship between JOGMEC and PETROBRAS.
Hitherto, JOGMEC and PETROBRAS have signed a memorandum in December 2005, and conducted joint researches on Monocolumn Hull Floating Production Storage and Offloading (MPSO) System from 2006 to 2009, and on the development of High Corrosion Resistance Flexible Riser for Ultra-deep Water from 2011 to 2013 based on the agreement.
It is expected that this MOU will further enhance the relationship between JOGMEC and PETROBRAS in the activity of oil and gas upstream field.

The company plays a central role in the oil exploration, development, production and refining in Brazil, and its oil production accounts for about 90% of that in Brazil. In addition, PETROBRAS conducts mainly in the upstream business in over more than 20 countries in Latin America, Africa, and the United States. Major oil fields in Brazil are located in the Pre-Salt off Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and the company's deep water oil field development technology under the seabed has been worldwide appreciated.
