on technical cooperation and geological survey in Uzbekistan

On October 25, 2015, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) finalized four consensus documents for technical cooperation related to oil and gas with National Holding Company “Uzbekneftegaz” (Uzbekneftegaz), and to metals with the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Geology and Mineral Resources (Goscomgeology).
These agreements were signed during an opportunity provided by the Japanese Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe’s, visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On October 25, JOGMEC signed a Basic Agreement (BA) for geological study in oil and gas, at the residence of the President of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, during a meeting between the heads of state and private-sector industry representatives. Furthermore, during the Business Forum in Uzbekistan, JOGMEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for exploration and development of uranium deposit and exchanged two Agreements (an Agreement on joint geological survey of rare metals, and a Basic Agreement for joint study of JAPAN-GTL technology application). The new Agreements and MOU will further strengthen JOGMEC’s collaborative relationship with Uzbekistan.
These four agreements are listed as follows:
1. Basic Agreement for geological study in Uzbekistan between Uzbekneftegaz and JOGMEC
2. Basic Agreement for joint study on JAPAN-GTL technology in Uzbekistan between Uzbekneftegaz and JOGMEC
3. Agreement on joint geological survey of rare metals in Uzbekistan between Goscomgeology and JOGMEC
4. MOU for exploration and development of uranium deposit in prospect area between Goscomgeology and JOGMEC
