Commence Technical Solution Project relating to CO2 EOR

Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (“JOGMEC”, President: Hirobumi Kawano) and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (President Shunsaku Miyake) announced today that the commencement of technical solution project relating to CO2 EOR using CO2 micro bubble.
JOGMEC has started “Technical Solutions Project” since 2013, in which JOGMEC conducts technology development collaboratively with a wide range of Japanese industries to customize advanced technologies and offer “technical solutions” for the challenges in oil and gas E&P projects.
As a part of the “Technical Solution Project”, JOGMEC has been developing an innovative CO2 EOR using CO2 micro bubble. This technology aims an improvement of sweep efficiency of CO2 EOR by injecting small bubbles of CO2 into the reservoir. In November 2015, the two companies entered into a technical development agreement to evaluate CO2 EOR using CO2 micro bubble technology through the laboratory tests and the field pilot test designs.
