JOGMEC signs MOU with Vale S.A. to strengthen relationship
In Brasília, Brazil, August 1st, 2014, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC : Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mr. Hirobumi Kawano) and Vale S.A., one of the largest metals and coal producers based in Brazil, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to strengthen relationship in order to carry out cooperative projects.
The MOU was signed at the time of Prime Minister Abe’s visit to Brazil.
JOGMEC and Vale will strengthen relationship with the following topics;
- To advance discussions to form exploration projects for mineral resources.
- To start discussions for further cooperation regarding coal resources.
- To introduce to Vale through JOGMEC Japan’s advanced technology which may be used in Vale’s operating mines
- To start discussions to seek for the possibility of joint research with Vale Institute of Technology Department.
