JOGMEC Signs Memorandum of Agreement with Indonesia’s BPSDM to Enhance Human Resource Development in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources

Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, in Tokyo, on October 8, 2024, with regard to the externship program for officers of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources.
JOGMEC has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Indonesia’s Agency concerning Externship Program for Human Resources of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR). This strategic agreement, initiated by Dr. Prahoro Yulijanto Nurtjahyo, Head of BPSDM, underscores a shared commitment to fostering human resource development in Indonesia's energy and mineral resources sectors particularly to prepare Indonesia Net Zero Emission 2060. The collaboration will allow officer from MEMR Indonesia to participate in externship programs at JOGMEC, where they will gain exposure to advanced technologies and practical experience, further strengthening their technical capabilities upon returning to Indonesia.
JOGMEC and Indonesia have maintained a long-standing partnership, working together across key fields such as oil and natural gas, mineral resources, geothermal energy, coal development, and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). This new externship program represents a significant expansion of these collaborative efforts, aiming to enhance the exchange of knowledge and skills between the two countries, while contributing to energy security, energy transitions, and sustainable development in the region.
As part of its mission to ensure a stable and sustainable supply of energy and mineral resources, JOGMEC remains dedicated to promoting human resource development and providing technical support, both domestically and internationally. Through this program, JOGMEC seeks to deepen the cooperative relationship with Indonesia, reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations and contributing to the development of skilled professionals in Indonesia’s energy and mineral sectors.
