JOGMEC and ADNOC signed MOU to enhance Oil & Gas production and human resource development for Abu Dhabi utilizing Japanese latest technologies

On February 10 in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) singed the amendment agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the technical cooperation, to extend its cooperative areas.
New technical cooperation between JOGMEC and ADNOC will be launched under the following area
- Evaluation and application of Japanese latest technologies available used to provide solutions for challenges in exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas, such as information technology, nano-technology/material and environmental technology etc.
- Development of human resources through provision of training based on the latest technologies and information.
- Joint implementations for offshore field studies and tests of CO2EOR.

Since January 31 2000, JOGMEC has cooperated with ADNOC. At this time, JOGMEC and ADNOC agreed the amendment to the MOU to expand the cooperation to areas in exploration, development and production of oil and gas. The previous MOU focused mainly on technical research for subsurface, especially reservoir characterization by using reservoir simulation and seismic survey. Under this MOU, JOGMEC and ADNOC have included wider scope of studies, including CO<sub>2</sub> EOR.
It is expected that the amendment agreement of MOU will strengthen the relationships between Abu Dhabi and Japanese companies including JOGMEC, and contribute to further develop UAE nationals, and enhance oil and gas production levels and plateaus to achieve ultimate recovery factors.
